Get up and dance!

lesson-header

How much time do you spend sitting down? Think about the time you spend in class, on the computer, watching TV, or playing video games.

Do you think it’s important to stand and take regular breaks? Why?

Build this “Break Dancer!”

student-02

It’ll dance to the beat and remind  you to get up and move.

If you have time, build your own design.

Sync those legs!

Play this program.

Change the timing to make the dancer’s legs move 10 times in sync with the light.

For example, have the legs start to move when the number 1 is light up on the Hub.

Swing those arms!

student-04

Now, use what you’ve just learned and sync the dancer’s arms with the light.

Don't forget to change the Ports for the arms motor.

It could look something like this:

Add some beats!

student-05

Add at least 2 beats in tune with your dancer’s moves.

Can you keep everything in sync?

Try something like this:

It’s time to move!

student-06

Now that everything’s in sync, program your dancer to remind you to take breaks every 60 seconds.

Don’t forget to get up and dance!

There are many ways to take a break but it’s recommended that you take a time-out every 75-90 minutes. It’ll help you focus more during the day.

How did you do?

Think about what you did well and what you could’ve done better.

Dance. Life hack. A perfect match!
