Stop at Angle

Objective

Use the Gyro Sensor to navigate the robot through a 45-degree turn.

 

IMPORTANT: Keep the Gyro Sensor and EV3 steady when connecting the cable, and during start-up of the EV3.

Build It

Skip this step if the model is already built.

Animation

Play the video to the right to see how the program controls the robot.

Test It

Recreate the program shown, then download it and run a test. You can change the block parameters to optimize how your robot behaves.

 

Add a Comment Box to the Canvas (see the purple palette). Describe the robot's behavior in as much detail as possible.

Modify It

Now it’s your turn! Make the robot turn 90 degrees and then have it drive in a square using as few programming blocks as possible.

 

Hint: The Port View app on the EV3 Brick can also be used to view real-time sensor readings.
