Computer Integrated Manufacturing
In this unit, your students will strengthen their design engineering skills and coding skills by solving complex the real-world problems of computer-controlled machines. Students will integrate multiples subject skills as they analyze major global challenges, elaborate qualitative and quantitative criteria and constraints and break large problems down into smaller ones. They will also develop and use a series of test cases to verify that a solution performs according to its design specifications. Students will strengthen their communication skills as they present information, findings, and supporting evidence clearly, concisely, and logically.

Design, build, and program a machine that draws a pattern, performs the task accurately, and repeats the task.
Make a Factory Conveyor
Design, build, and program a robotic system that relies on at least one motor and one sensor to move a ball on a path that includes a 90-degree turn.

Design, build, and program a robotic system that can pick up an object in one location and place it in another location.
Make a Sorting Machine
Design, build, and program a machine that can identify at least three different colors of LEGO® elements and sort them into separate locations.
