LEGO® Education Teacher Award 2017

The purpose of the LEGO Education Teacher Award is to recognise innovative classroom teachers in Australia who have an interesting story to tell. LEGO Education will provide assistance for the recipient to present their work at the LEGO Education Symposium 2017 in Billund, Denmark.

Target group

The award is aimed at classroom teachers, both primary and secondary, who have been using LEGO Education products in innovative ways to support their students learning and understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

About the LEGO Education Symposium

The LEGO Education Symposium provides classroom teachers with the opportunity to inspire and support each other in how to use the LEGO brick to foster STEM in the classroom.

Recipient benefits

The benefits for the award recipient include the opportunity to:

  • Meet with like-minded teachers from around the world and networking

  • Visit LEGO Education headquarters

  • Share innovative teaching practice

  • Be inspired by keynote talks from thought leaders in education

  • Learn how the LEGO brick is being used in classrooms around the world

Recipient expectations

The award recipient may be expected to give a 7-min TED-style presentation at the Symposium. Following the Symposium, they may be invited to help run workshops around their area of expertise in Australia.

Material from presentations and workshops will be shared via the LEGO Engineering and LEGO Education websites.

Deadlines

Entries must be received by 28 February 2017, with recipients to be announced by 17 March 2017.

The prize for the winner is flights and accommodation for one person to attend the LEGO Education Symposium 2017 in Billund, Denmark, 9-11 May 2017.
