Eligibility
- Open to public schools, school districts, or approved STEM Centers in Arkansas serving 3rd–6th grade
- Only one application per school (via school, district, or STEM Center)
Goals
- Bridge the technology divide in Arkansas public schools serving grades 3–6
- Fund hands-on STEM equipment/materials and professional development
- Enable deeper student understanding in science, math, engineering, and technology
Application Due Date
- Due: September 19, 2025, by 5:00 PM
- Final reports due: June 30, 2026, by 5:00 PM
Grant Cycle
- 2025–2026 school year
- Awards announced: October 3, 2025
- Total funding available: $118,653 (from license plate proceeds and carryover funds)
Grant Award Total Amount
- Up to $10,000 per school: (includes PD)
- Up to 15% of the award can be allocated to PD
Allowable Purchases
- Allowed: tangible, durable STEM equipment and materials (e.g., robotics kits, microscopes, makerspace tools)
- Not allowed: field trips, memberships, competition fees, salaries (non-PD), indirect costs.
LEGO Education SPIKE Essential, SPIKE Prime, and LEGO Education Science kits qualify as durable, hands-on tools that support multi-year STEM learning. PD funds can be used for training teachers on the effective implementation of LEGO Education resources.
Program Implementation Requirements
- Must follow a detailed project timeline covering purchase, distribution, PD, classroom usage, and final reporting
- Requires a one-page Project Narrative per school (needs, alignment, PD, justification)
- Budget submitted via Excel template with item details and vendor info (Request a free quote to support your application).
- Grant Assurance Form with handwritten signatures required
- District or STEM Center applications require superintendent support letters
