Eligibility

  • Certified K–12 teachers or school administrators in a public, charter, or independent STEM schools in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA)
  • Georgia: Richmond, Columbia, Burke, Jenkins, Lincoln, Wilkes, McDuffie, Jefferson, Taliaferro, Warren, Glascock, Hancock, and Washington counties.
  • South Carolina: Aiken, Edgefield, Allendale, Barnwell, and McCormick counties.
  • Applicants must submit a signed W-9 and be part of a 501(c)(3) or governmental agency (Education Foundation and or PTA/PTSAs with 501c3 classification)

  • Encourage integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into K–12 curricula

Grant Award Total Amount

  • Individual Grants: $2,500 or $5,000

Allowable Purchases

  • LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set
    • Aligns with the grant’s goal to foster real-world problem-solving and hands-on STEM experiences by enabling students to design, build, and program robotic solutions, integrating engineering, coding, and design thinking into the classroom.
  • LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential Set
    • Encourages younger students to explore coding and engineering fundamentals through playful, story-based problem-solving, aligning with the grant’s goal to build early STEM engagement.

Program Implementation Requirements

  • Applicants must include a clear implementation plan in their proposal detailing:
    • How the STEM project will be integrated into classroom instruction.
    • The specific STEM disciplines and grade level(s) targeted.
    • A timeline for project activities and milestones.
    • How requested materials (e.g., LEGO Education sets) will be used to support student learning.
    • Plans for measuring student engagement and outcomes (aligned with the grant rubric’s evaluation criteria).
    • How the project will promote real-world application of STEM concepts and inquiry-based learning.
    • A strategy for sharing project results and lessons learned with colleagues and/or the school community.

Keep in Mind

  • Use the Teacher Grant Rubric to guide your application
  • Clearly describe the project and its real-world applications
  • Demonstrate connection to STEM curriculum across multiple disciplines
  • Proposal should be no more than three pages, single-spaced, 12-point font, with 1-inch margins
