CS Teacher PD & Equipment Grant

Eligibility
- All Georgia Local Education Agencies (LEAs)
- LEAs may apply on behalf of eligible educators
- Educators must be teaching at least one CS course (discrete or integrated, including gifted or STEM) during the current school year in a Georgia public school
- Only one grant application may be submitted per LEA per program
Application Due Date
- October 3, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.
Grant Cycle
- November 2025 to October 2026 - All funds must be invoiced by June 30, 2026
Grant Award Total Amount
- Up to $25,000 per district

CSTEC (Equipment + PD)
Award Amount
- Up to $15,000 per district
- Up to $10,000 per district
Goals
- Broaden participation in K–12 CS education
- Support implementation of O.C.G.A. 20-2-149.3 (CS in middle and high schools)
- Provide funding for teacher PD to increase CS instructional capacity
- Build a statewide community of CS teachers focused on instruction, practice, and pedagogy
- Promote physical computing to engage students in hands-on CS experiences
Allowable Purchases
- Teacher professional development
- Teacher certification costs
- Teacher endorsement programs
- Purchase of class sets of physical computing devices
- Professional development necessary for implementation and teacher use of physical equipment
LEGO® Education Alignment
- LEGO Education Professional Development training builds instructional confidence in coding and robotics
- SPIKE™ Essential and Prime can be used as training tools for standards-aligned CS instruction
- SPIKE™ Essential and Prime qualify as physical computing devices
- LEGO Education PD meets the grant requirement for training on physical computing
- Aligned with Georgia Standards of Excellence for CS and integrated into classroom practice
Implementation Requirements
- 100% of funds must go toward teacher capacity building
- Trained teachers must be available to train others in their LEA
- Final report required
- Equipment must be used in a graded, state-approved CS course during the regular school day
- Must directly support the Georgia Standards of Excellence for CS
- Must expand access to meaningful CS instruction
Notes / Tips
- Priority given to districts with a CS Implementation Plan and identified teacher(s)
- Schools in high-poverty, rural, or federally-identified categories receive additional consideration
- Up to $2,000 per teacher (est. $500 for professional org/conference + $1,500 for equipment/training)
- Physical computing must occur during the school day in approved CS courses (prefix 11.XX at HS level)
