K-12 Robotics Competition Grant

Eligibility
- Public schools (including charter schools)
- State-accredited nonpublic schools
- Nonpublic schools accredited by a nationally or regionally recognized agency
- Teams must include students in K–12 and at least one adult mentor/coach
- Schools must provide 25% matching funds (cash or in-kind from private/local sources, not district funds)
Goals
- Expand STEM interest and skills through hands-on robotics competitions
- Build community partnerships to connect students with local workforce and postsecondary opportunities
- Emphasize manufacturing, machining, and fabrication skills for high school students
Application Due Date
- Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:45 p.m. ET
Grant Cycle
- July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026
Grant Award Total Amount
- 1–5 teams: up to $25,000
- 6–12 teams: up to $50,000
- 13–18 teams: up to $75,000
- 19+ teams: up to $100,000

- Yes - LEGO Education SPIKE Essential and SPIKE Prime
Program Implementation Requirements
- Applicants must partner with at least one sponsor, business, higher education institution, or technical school
- Must compete in an approved robotics competition (e.g., FIRST Indiana Robotics, REC Foundation)
- High school teams must build an original, iteratively designed robot
- Recruitment must be open to all students, with accommodations provided for students with disabilities
- Funds are on a reimbursement basis after expenses are incurred
Keep in Mind
- Applications must be submitted through Indiana’s eCivis platform
- Schools must be registered with the Secretary of State, State Comptroller’s Office, and Indiana Department of Administration before applying
- Matching funds documentation is required
- No reimbursement for food, decorative items (e.g., shirts), indirect costs, or grant preparation costs
- Award notifications expected by August 22, 2025
