LEGO Education professional learning experiences for SPIKE Essential and SPIKE Prime help teachers at all grade levels integrate robotics, coding, and engineering into their classrooms - from early computer science foundations with SPIKE Essential to intermediate and advanced programming — including Python with SPIKE Prime — supporting a clear K–12 CS pathway.
Program Implementation Requirements
- Recipients must follow fiscal and reporting requirements
- Claims are reimbursed; districts spend funds first and then request payment
- Non-compliance can lead to payment delays or loss of funds
Keep in Mind
- Applications are competitive and scored using an official rubric
- PD funds must supplement, not supplant, current professional development budgets
- Because funding is reimbursement-based, districts should plan cash flow to cover upfront PD costs
- This PD track is separate from the endorsement track and follows its own deadlines
