  • Partnerships that may include institutions of higher education or other organizations supporting educator development
  • Applicants able to implement a system of professional learning aligned to state priorities

Grant Award Total Amount

  • Award amounts vary based on the approved proposal and scope of implementation

Allowable Purchases

  • Professional development and training for educators
  • Instructional resources and materials that support professional learning implementation
  • Coaching, support services, and program evaluation related to professional learning systems
     
  • Aligned to LEGO® Education Solutions
    • LEGO Education Professional Development supports sustained, job-embedded teacher learning aligned to instructional improvement goals
    • Hands-on STEM and computer science solutions provide instructional resources that align with high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) professional learning implementation
    • Ongoing coaching and classroom integration support align to system-wide professional learning models

Program Implementation Requirements

  • Professional learning must align to the Learning Forward’s Standards for Professional Learning
  • Develop and implement a structured system of professional learning aligned to identified needs
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning and its impact on educator practice and student outcomes
  • LEA must include a sustainability plan describing how training will continue after the funding cycle ends

  • Funding is competitive and requires a clearly defined professional learning system
  • Proposals must align with Maryland state priorities and educator development goals
  • Emphasis is placed on sustainability and measurable impact over time
