Eligibility
- Open to LEAs serving grades 9–12 currently eligible to receive Perkins funding
- The selected CTE program must be:
- Currently approved
- Actively serving students
- Aligned with NJ’s Key Industry Sectors
Goals
- Goal 1: Prepare students for careers aligned with NJ’s innovation economy
- Goal 2: Increase partnerships between industry and LEAs to support innovative practices and build the workforce pipeline

- May 15, 2025, by 4:00 PM (via EWEG system)
Grant Cycle
- July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026
Grant Award Total Amount
- Up to $50,000 per award
- Up to 6 LEAs (2 per region: North, Central, South)
Allowable Purchases
- LEGO Education solutions and PD
- Equipment and supplies necessary to run the program, such as computers, peripherals, and furniture required for equipment utilization.
- Alignment: LEGO Education sets (e.g., SPIKE™ Prime) are considered instructional equipment. These hands-on tools are ideal for teaching coding, engineering, physical science, and design thinking in CTE-aligned classrooms.
- Professional development for teaching staff to build skills and knowledge in the industry
- Alignment: LEGO Education offers structured PD that empowers teachers to implement hands-on, real-world STEM learning. Sessions can be tailored for specific CTE tracks such as robotics, coding, or engineering design, ensuring teachers stay current with industry-relevant skills.
Keep in Mind – Tips for this Specific Application
- Build a collaboration with at least one NJ-based business/industry partner
- Show how the project will upskill instructors, enhance facilities, and provide hands-on learning
- Include specific success indicators, staff roles, and a timeline of activities
- Budget must clearly link to each activity with proper justification
- Sub-granting is not allowed
- Indirect costs are not allowable (0%)
- Applications must be submitted via the EWEG system
