Neighborhood School Grants

Eligibility
- Public schools located in Brooklyn’s Districts 13, 14, or 15
- Schools may apply with or without a fiscal sponsor
- Repeat funding is allowed for previously awarded schools
Goals
- Support innovative, community-driven projects that enrich student learning
- Fund programs that fall outside of a school’s regular budget
- Encourage collaboration among students, families, staff, and local communities

- August 1, 2025
Grant Cycle
- Notification: September 15, 2025
- Funds Available: October 2025
Grant Award Total Amount
- Up to $20, 000 per school
Allowable Purchases
- LEGO Education solutions and PD are allowable purchases
Program Implementation Requirements
- According to the website, Two Trees and the Walentas Family Foundation believe that individual schools themselves know best how to assess their needs and how to address them given their unique capabilities and resources.
- Implementation is based on each school’s specific needs.
- Applicants must clearly demonstrate the need for the proposed program or initiative with supporting evidence (e.g., data, community input, or school priorities).
- Proposals should show how the implementation plan aligns with school goals and includes collaboration across the school community.
