Eligibility
- K-12 public school teachers in North Carolina
- Must be located in a school served by a North Carolina electric cooperative
- The decision to fund grants for private or charter schools is up to the sponsoring cooperative’s discretion. Contact your local electric cooperative to find out.
Goals
- Support innovative classroom-based projects
- Enhance student learning and engagement
- Encourage creative teaching methods

Grant Award Total Amount
- Grants typically range from $500 to $2,500 (specific to each cooperative)
Allowable Purchases
- Classroom materials and supplies for approved projects
- Equipment needed to implement classroom projects
- Instructional resources tied to project-based learning

Program Implementation Requirements
- Funds must be used for the proposed classroom project
- Projects are implemented during the school year following the award
- Projects should demonstrate ongoing classroom integration beyond a single use case
