  • Or a combination of the above (all must be in Oregon)

Goals

  • Strengthen existing CTE Programs of Study (POS)
  • Create new CTE POS aligned with:
    • High-skill, high-wage, in-demand occupations
    • Oregon diploma requirements
    • Needs of historically and currently marginalized students and families
  • Support student engagement and preparation for postsecondary education or careers

Application Due Date

  • Anticipated opening: August 2025
  • Anticipated deadline: Mid- to late October 2025
  • Grant awards announced in December 2025

Allowable Purchases (Alignment with LEGO® Education Solutions)

While specific allowable expenses will be detailed in the forthcoming RFA, the grant generally supports equipment and program implementation tied to approved CTE Programs of Study. Alignment with LEGO® Education solutions may include:

  • LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential and SPIKE™ Prime:
    • Aligns with Oregon CTE Programs of Study in Industrial & Engineering Systems (e.g., robotics, mechatronics, engineering design), Arts, Information & Communications (e.g., computer science, programming), and Health and Science (e.g., scientific inquiry, data collection) through hands-on, standards-aligned learning experiences
    • Support CTE Career Clusters in Manufacturing, Information Technologies, and STEM, just to name a few.
    • Promotes problem-solving, collaboration, and technical skill development essential to 21st-century careers - find out more here!
       
  • LEGO® Education Professional Development:
    • Provides teacher training to ensure successful program implementation and long-term sustainability
    • Supports instructors with curriculum integration strategies, instructional best practices, and technical setup for classroom use

Program Implementation Requirements

  • Must begin no earlier than January 1, 2026, and complete all deliverables/purchases/services by June 30, 2027
  • Expectation of program sustainability beyond the grant period
  • Projects should be realistic in scale and scope based on applicant's capacity
  • Construction, equipment purchases, or vehicle use must be clearly planned, including contingencies for cost/time overruns
  • Certified CTE instructors must be in place by the start of classroom implementation

Keep in Mind

  • This is a two-year grant - make sure to include a budget that reflects multiple years.
  • Equity is a core focus—applications should clearly describe how they will increase participation and support for marginalized students
  • Partnerships are critical—encouraged with community colleges, workforce boards, industry, tribes, and others
  • Sustainability and scale should be addressed with realistic plans for long-term success
