"We need to talk about play!"
World Play Day
Global research surveying more than 25,000 children across 36 countries reveals that as many as 73% of children don’t believe adults take play – and how it can help them learn – seriously.*
The adoption of a UN resolution for a day centered around play creates a unifying moment at global, national, and local levels to elevate the importance of play. Find out more at www.internationaldayofplay.org.
As LEGO® Education, we firmly support play having a place in school and that learning through play can deliver strong learning outcomes. We often hear from educators how hands-on, playful learning “levels the playing field” and allows all students to find success in the classroom. Because when students are engaged, learning becomes more motivating, memorable and meaningful.
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the power of play on June 11 and every day.

A survey of 1,000 K-8 students and 1,000 teachers shows they have powerful views on learning through play. Hands-on, playful learning not only helps students learn, but it also makes them more excited to go to school. And teachers report it engages their students more and is “extremely or very effective” at helping them teach standards compared to standard lessons.
